[Resolved] Duplicate emails from FASER

Between 12:30pm and 1:00pm today, a processing error caused FASER to re-send historic feedback alerts via email and Pocket Essex.

We believe this problem is a one off, but we are investigating the cause.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

[Resolved] Pocket Essex app

We believe that this problem has now been resolved.


Original message:

A recent security update to our Moodle service has inadvertently broken the Moodle component of the Pocket Essex app.

Note that accessing Moodle via a web browser is unaffected. Users are advised to visit Moodle directly in a web browser, at https://moodle.essex.ac.uk/.

We are working with the providers of the Pocket Essex app to investigate the cause, and more information will be made available when appropriate.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

[Scheduled Service Alert] Pocket Essex

We have received advance warning that one of the external servers responsible for Pocket Essex will be moving to a new data centre on Sunday 28 February 2016.

During this time users may find that parts of the Pocket Essex app fail to load or fail to update with the latest information.

The app should be returned to service by 11:59pm.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

[Resolved] Problems with today’s timetabled events in Outlook and Pocket Essex

UPDATE: 14:44pm This issue is now resolved.

Due to an overnight update failure, some students may find that today’s timetable (13th October) shown in Outlook and Pocket Essex may be incorrect. Students with timetabled events today are strongly advised to check the web-based timetables at https://www.essex.ac.uk/timetables (or mobile version: https://www.essex.ac.uk/timetables/pocket)

It is anticipated that this will be resolved for tomorrow’s timetables (14th October 2015).

Any inconvenience is regretted.
