[Service Alert] Issue with OpenVPN service (Tuesday 8 June)

Despite yesterday’s remedial actions, we are again aware of an issue affecting connections over OpenVPN to on-campus network this morning, and are currently investigating.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing you.

We’ll post another update as soon as we learn more.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

[Service Alert] We’re performing urgent maintenance on OpenVPN

We’re doing some urgent maintenance work on OpenVPN to address some problems you’ve told us about.

The work is happening today from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Unfortunately OpenVPN may be intermittently available during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll update you here as soon as the work is finished.

[Service Alert] We’re making improvements to our remote desktop server – sernt43

Work Complete

The planned upgrade was completed successfully on Friday.

If you notice any issues please let the IT Helpdesk know.

The work is now complete and we are monitoring the service.

Planned Work

As part of our ongoing improvements to the remote desktop server sernt43, we’ve got some planned upgrades happening on 19 June 2020 from 6.30 am to 7.00 am.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to access sernt43 during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
