[Service Alert] Issue with OpenVPN service

We’re aware of an issue affecting connections over OpenVPN to on-campus network and are currently investigating.

[Service Alert] [Resolved] Student Accommodation Network at our Southend Campus

We had been alerted to an outage that was causing issues with both wired and wireless internet to House 6 at University Square Student Accommodation at our Southend Campus.

ITS and Glide believe that service has been restored to University Square, but are monitoring the situation. If you are still experiencing issues with Student Accommodation Network at University Square, please contact Glide:

04/06/2021 8.49am: Glide confirm connectivity restored
04/06/2021 8:48am: ITS attended on site and all devices appear to be working, have reported back to Glide for confirmation
04/06/2021 1.53am: Glide contact on site security team to advise of issue and to start initial investigations
03/06/2021 3.09pm: Glide’s remote monitoring detected a loss of connectivity to all devices at House 6

Partial power outage affecting some IT services (Colchester Campus)

We’ve fixed the issue and are monitoring the situation.
Services should be resuming.

Investigating: 15:20 pm

We’re aware of an issue affecting power to parts of the Colchester Campus, including the Constable Building, and are currently investigating.

[Service Alert] Planned Network Upgrades on Saturday 8 May 9am to 5pm.

[Monitoring] The network upgrades are complete as of 12:00 Saturday. We will continue to monitor over the weekend.

As part of our ongoing improvements to cyber security, we’ve got some planned network upgrades happening on Saturday 8 May from 9am to 5pm at Colchester Campus.

During this time, you may experience brief interruptions accessing some online services. These include but are not limited to:

We anticipate that the disruption to these services is most likely to happen between 9.00am and 10.30am.

[Service Alert] We’re making improvements to the Southend Campus Internet Firewalls

The firewall upgrades have been completed successfully. ITS will continue to monitor for any problems.

Planned Work – Sunday 18th April 09:00 – 15:00

As part of our ongoing improvements to cyber security, we’ve got some planned upgrades of our Internet firewalls happening on Sunday the 18th of April from 09:00 to 15:00 on the Southend Campus.

Unfortunately you may experience brief interruptions on network and Internet access during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
