As part of ongoing improvements to our services, we’ve got some planned upgrades happening tomorrow on 30 March.

We will be keeping a close watch on these services for the rest of the day, but we don’t expect any further disruption.

[Monitoring][Resolved] Some services will be unavailable Saturday 21st September

Update: 24/09/19

Further work was carried out this morning and all services are back online.  Apologies for any inconvenience.


 

Update: 23/09/19

The work carried out Saturday was successful and services are back up and running. We continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if necessary.


 

Update: 21/09/19

Further work was carried out this morning from 07:00 to 07:30 and systems are now stable.


 

We will be undertaking some remedial action to address the underlying cause of the recent problems we have been experiencing with the availability of some services. This work will be carried out tomorrow, Saturday 21st September, between the hours of 7am and 8.30am. We anticipate there will be some loss of services during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused whilst this essential work is being undertaken. Further updates will be provided should the work take longer than anticipated.

[Service alert] [Scheduled] Library System Maintenance: 15th and 16th August

On Thursday 15th and Friday 16th of August, the library digital systems will be going down for maintenance.

If you’re a member of the Colchester or Loughton library, during this time you will not be able to check out books using the self-service kiosks, and will have to have them manually checked out at the helpdesk.

You will not be able to recall or renew any books during this time.

Items borrowed during these days will be made a note of and added to your account on a later date, so your account may not be up-to-date.

When returning items, they may not come immediately off of your account, but we will make sure that they are removed as soon as possible.

Any items that are due during these dates will be postponed to the 19th August.

Between around 9:20 and 10:00 this morning there was an issue at the data center of one our service providers which led to some systems becoming temporarily unavailable. This would have included Moodle, Qualtrics, Talis, Lynda and some library services. This issue was fixed at around 10am.

Problems accessing Library services

Update: The problems affecting logging into certain library systems have now been resolved.

We have received reports that there are currently intermittent issues with logging on to some library services, the cause of which is currently being looked into.

Further updates will be posted when more information is available.
