UPDATE 10:42am: This work is now complete.

The SharePoint Team will be deploying an upgrade to the Collagen Forms Service (hosted on forms.essex.ac.uk) this morning between 10:30am and 10:45am on Monday 1 March 2021.

We expect to make all required changes in 5 minutes or less. However, as a precautionary measure we are asking staff and students not to attempt to edit any of the below form types until after 10:45am, as any changes in that timeframe could be lost:

  • PG DRF
  • UG DRF
  • PG Dean Approval Form
  • Dissertation Extension Request
  • Research Away Request
  • Change of Mode of Study Request
  • Request for Withdrawal
  • CAS Extension Request
  • ECF Case File Workflow

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll update you as soon as the work is complete.

Monitoring

The planned work has been completed without incident. We will monitor the system performance for the rest of the day.

Planned work

As part of our ongoing improvements to our phone service, we’ve got some planned upgrades happening on 25 February 2021 from 07.00 am to 08.00 am.

Unfortunately, during this time, you won’t be able to:

  • use a SIP phone (including BRIA softphone), at any campus
  • access voicemail to leave or listen to a message

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

An analogue phone at Southend or Colchester will still work for internal calls within the same campus only.

We’ll update you here as soon as the work is complete.

Good news – the restart was a success and we’re now monitoring the situation.

Planned Emergency work

We’re doing some work on the Voicemail server following on from the problems caused by the recent power outage.

The work is happening on:

  • Monday 4 January (Today) between 6.00pm and 6.30pm

Unfortunately you won’t be able to access the Voicemail system during this time to make or retrieve a message. All pre-existing messages are unaffected.

We’ll update you here as soon as the work is finished. Thanks as always for your patience.

[Scheduled] Planned telephone system upgrades are happening soon

The updates have been installed and tested without incident. If anyone is having trouble with please let the IT Helpdesk know.

Planned work

To keep our telephone system well maintained and running properly, we’ve got some planned upgrades happening on:

  • Wednesday 21 October between 6.00am and 8.00am

During this period the phone system will be completely offline for between 20 to 45 minutes depending on the type of phone you are using, when no inbound or outbound calls (including call redirection) will be possible at all campuses and for those using BRIA.

All systems, including voicemail and BCT, will be affected simultaneously and then gradually return to a functional state. 

We expect the work to go smoothly and will update you here as soon as the work is finished.

[Service Alert] [Scheduled] LEAP maintenance 01.10.2020 – 02.10.2020

Update 6th October 2020 10:45:

Work is continuing to update LEAP and there will be a brief loss of service at 11:00.  Additional work will continue throughout the day which may cause some disruption to the information and engagement displayed.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Update 2nd October 2020 17:45:

Work has progressed with the LEAP updates however we are expecting some additional downtime on Monday 5th October.

During this time there may be some disruption to the information and engagement ratings displayed.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

1st October 2020:

We will be making some updates to LEAP on the evening of 1st October 2020 and throughout Friday 2nd October 2020 ready for the new academic year.
