[Resolved] Issues with some IT services reported

Monitoring (10:00) An issue with the Colchester campus IT network has been reported which may have stopped you being able to access some services – for example:

Normal performance has been restored and we are monitoring the situation.

[Service Alert] Issue with wifi at The Forum, Southend Campus

We are aware of an issue with the wifi at The Forum, Southend Campus that is preventing staff and students from accessing eduroam throughout The Forum and our Learning Hub.
This issue has been reported to Southend Borough Council and we are monitoring, we will update when we have more detail or service is restored.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Earlier today we experienced an issue with the Colchester campus IT network which meant that you may not have been able to access some services between 8:25am and 9:15am – for example:

[Service Alert] We’re making improvements to our phone service

The planned work has been completed without incident. We will monitor the system performance for the rest of the day.

As part of our ongoing improvements to our phone service, we’ve got some planned upgrades happening on 25 February 2021 from 07.00 am to 08.00 am.

Unfortunately, during this time, you won’t be able to:

  • use a SIP phone (including BRIA softphone), at any campus
  • access voicemail to leave or listen to a message

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

An analogue phone at Southend or Colchester will still work for internal calls within the same campus only.

We’ll update you here as soon as the work is complete.

[Service Alert] Issue with external email delivery earlier today

Earlier today we experienced an issue with our email security system which meant that emails from external recipients may have been delayed between 9am and 12.30pm.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you at the time.

This issue has since been resolved.
