The Project Managers’ Network

The network is open to everyone involved in projects (big and small), and provides opportunity to meet and share experiences of managing projects here at the University.

What to expect from the March session

The next Project Managers’ Network meeting is 16 March at 2pm – 3.30pm, in room 1N1.4.1.

Make sure you book your place now. This session will focus on:

1. Project news

Updates on recent news and events related to projects.

2. Key changes to the Project Management Framework

An overview of the changes to the Project Management Framework with a focus on the key decision points, the approval of the project mandate, the project proposal, change requests and project closure.

3. Writing a strong strategic case

We’ll talk you through what should be included in the project mandate to make a strong strategic case for getting your project idea approved.

4. Project reporting – What should you report on?

The reporting structure and what makes a good project report will be discussed; you’ll have the opportunity to assess example reports; and you’ll provide feedback on potential changes to the reporting process.

5. Project Managers’ Network – What’s next?

During the September 2015 session you gave suggestions for future training and sessions you would like to receive.  This session will prioritise some of these to form future Project Managers’ Network sessions.

Future topics will include

  • procurement;
  • building resilience when faced with change;
  • health and safety within projects;
  • and much, much more
