  • Do you sometimes wish you had a clear strategy before entering into difficult conversations?
  • Would you like to feel confident that the outcome will be positive for both of you?

We have an interactive, informative and entertaining workshop which has been designed to help you develop a strategy that works for you and to enable you to feel confident that any conversation can have a positive and constructive outcome. Log into HR Organiser now to book your place, there’s only a few places remaining.

What to expect

Through the use of Forum theatre and practise scenarios we will explore areas such as coaching, assertiveness, questioning, listening and look at the impact of the environment, body language, voice and develop a practical solution for having difficult conversations.

During the first half of the workshop you will observe the experienced facilitators acting out typical difficult conversation scenarios and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and coach the characters to achieve a positive outcome. You will explore techniques in questioning and listening, coaching and assertiveness. Together we will develop suitable strategies to deal with a variety of situations.

After lunch you will be split into two groups and each group will be led by an experienced actor / facilitator who will give you the opportunity to develop your own style and strategy further in a safe, confidential setting.

Unconscious bias

We also have an interactive 2 hour workshop that will explore how the beliefs and values gained from family, culture and a lifetime of experiences heavily influence how we view and evaluate both others and ourselves. Participants will be encouraged to consider their own biases and to consider what impact these may have.

Performance management

Another workshop we have developed in-house that will help delegates to manage and support poor performance, under achievement or problem behaviour. This workshop will raise awareness of and confidence in using the university’s disciplinary procedures.  It will be an interactive workshop with practical outcomes.
