Improve your digital confidence

The Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TELT for short) have just put the finishing touches to a “Digital Confidence Diagnostic”.DSC_2388(prn)

This web-based tool has been designed to help academic staff better understand their relationship with technology in a scholarly context. The diagnostic only takes about 5 minutes to complete and, once you have done so, you’ll be provided with a list of useful tips and tricks to help you improve your use of technology.

Thirty-five members of staff have already completed the diagnostic. If you haven’t done so already, you can take the diagnostic by clicking on the following link. (You’ll need to login to Moodle to access it):

At the moment, the collective digital confidence of the small number of staff who have completed the acitivty is around the 50% mark. This is very positive, as I was expecting this figure to be a little lower at this early stage of the Digital Confidence Project. I strongly recommend that you take this diagnostic, as the data collected will be used by Learning and Development and IT Services to improve the technological support on offer at Essex.

This diagnostic is squarly aimed at academic staff, other staff and students at the University will not be able to complete it. However, we are planning to create a similar diagnostic for professional services staff and students in the near future.
