East 15 Acting School has received a huge endorsement from its own students to place it as the highest ranked drama school in the UK in a National Survey.
The National Student Survey (NSS) asks more than 300,00 students for their opinion on the quality of their courses.

While the average score across all participating institutions in the UK was 85% for Overall Satisfaction, East 15 Acting School attained an astounding 98%.  Sub-sets of the survey including; Course Teaching, Academic Support and Personal Development also all recorded an unprecedented 98% score for the school.

Director of East 15, Professor Leon Rubin said; “This success it testament to the incredibly hard work of a very dedicated academic and administrative team who always place student attainment and well-being at the core of what they do. It is also due, in no small way, to the exceptional support of the University of Essex. Running a school based on Conservatoire training and equipping graduates with a tool box of skills to help them succeed in the world of performing arts may not always be something that a leading academic institution such as University of Essex might fully understand; yet they have trusted us to achieve our objectives and championed our work tirelessly. I know they will be as proud for the department as I am.”

East 15 Acting School was founded just over 50 years ago, growing from the work of Joan Littlewood’s famed Theatre Workshop. In 2000, the school merged with the University of Essex and, since 2007, has been under the directorship of Leon Rubin. Under his management, some £13 million has been spent on new buildings and facilities for East 15 in Loughton and in Southend-On-Sea where the school created the state-of-the-art Clifftown Theatre and Studios.
The international East 15 community now includes some 650 students from over 40 countries and an equally diverse staff.
