The latest issue of Top Lines is now available.

Top Lines – 2019-2020 – Issue 4

Top Lines is a regular briefing for all staff from the Vice-Chancellor summarising the key debates and decisions of University Steering Group (USG), Senate, Resources Committee, and Council.

It explains the background, context and rationale for decisions and is an important mechanism for sharing information with staff. All members of University staff are encouraged to subscribe to receive Top Lines direct by emailing the Communications Office and all Top Lines issues are available in the password protected area of the University website.







Mr Potato Head’s guide to continuous improvement – Southend Campus (Open to everyone)

This fun workshop will provide an introduction to Continuous Improvement (CI), show you how it is implemented here at the University, and will equip you with the necessary tools and games to help embed CI into your everyday work, and support the University in making all our processes more scalable and efficient.

Collect your books from any Campus Library

You can now request to have books from the Colchester and Loughton Libraries delivered to any of our 3 campus libraries for collection (including Southend). Simply click the request button next to the book on the library catalogue and select which campus you would like to collect from. Simple!

Love Grace Handbag Appeal – Donation from MSc Adult Nursing Student

On becoming aware of the ‘Love Grace Handbag Appeal’ – collection in The Gateway Building reception, Amma Frimpong a second year MSc Adult student at Southend campus decided to donate one of the bags that she makes for to raise money for her charities. Filled with hygiene items she donated the bag to help women who have experienced sexual violence and domestic abuse. Amma can be seen in the photograph with Tina-Lewis- McGlynn(Lecturer) donating the bag that she has made

SSH Extended Counter Service Hours

We are happy to announce a trial of extended counter service hours between 9am-7pm at the Student Services Hub on the 2nd Floor of the Forum on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the period 3 February – 20 March 2020 . This will be supported by a member of the Student Information Team and the service will therefore be limited to the functions of this team only. There will be no other teams available or accessible to students on these days.

Research support sessions come to the Southend Campus
