‘Love Grace Handbag Appeal’ – Collection in The Gateway Building reception – Deadline for donations – Wednesday 26 February 12.00noon

Filed under: Southend Bulletin — tmarcu @ 4:31 am

‘Love Grace’ is an initiative set up by the family of Grace Millane, who was tragically murdered in New Zealand in December 2018.  Grace was from Wickford in Essex.

The ‘Love Grace Handbag Appeal’ collects new/newly new handbags filled with hygiene items that are then donated to women’s refuges across Essex.  Please find further information about ‘Love Grace’ in the poster attached to this email and via their Facebook page, which can found here:

Accepted items include:

  • Basics: Toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant.
  • Extras: Wipes, tissues, plasters, soap, hand gel, lip balm, cotton buds, face cloths, sponges, torch, hair brush/comb.
  • Luxuries: Make up, perfume, hairbands, hairclips, gloves, scarf, notebook/pen, playing cards, purse, sunglasses, jewellery.

(Please note that handbags should not contain: sharp items, sanitary products, pain killers, razors, alcohol, money, food, contraceptives or open and damaged goods).

Any items that you are able to donate to this incredibly important cause will be gratefully received and very much appreciated.  You do not need to donate a full handbag, as any individual items donated will be added to handbags already received.  All donations will go to women who have experienced sexual violence and domestic abuse.

There will be a donation box for handbags/items at The Gateway Building ground floor reception from Monday 20 January.

Many thanks for your time and support.  It is much appreciated.
