Top Lines

You’ll need to enter in your login and password to access Top Lines online.

ERC grant workshops – Southend

ERC grant workshops in Colchester and Southend

The European Research Council (ERC) offers up to €2.5 million over five years to exceptional individual researchers to undertake high-risk, high-gain research. Grants are available for researchers at all career stages from two years post-Phd; deadlines are annual and are spread throughout the year. The UK can continue to apply for EU funding until the end of 2020, so there are still a couple of years to make an application. If you would like to know more please join one of the forthcoming workshops in July.

• Colchester: 3 July 2018, 10.00 – 12.00
• Southend: 4 July 2018, 11.00 – 13.00

MoveOut

Head to Priory Park this summer for MoveOut, a programme of fun, fitness and relaxation sessions organised by Southend Borough Council.

The programme aims to encourage working age adults who live or work in our Borough to get outdoors and make the most of our local parks. You can try new activities, meet new people or just join in with your colleagues.

The fun and informal sessions will be delivered by experienced instructors. The free launch event is on Wednesday 4 July 6pm to 8pm. Please see the full timetable attached.

If you pay in advance the costs are discounted and you get the sixth week free. You can come along to the launch and pay or pitch up and pay on the days. Places may be limited for some activities so book ahead to avoid disappointment. Travel Insurance Application Process

The travel insurance application process has now been upgraded to an online system; please note that there are some changes on the online form that mean the old word version is now defunct and should no longer be used.

The Finance SharePoint also has a link to this online form, as well as information about risk assessments and the University’s insurance policies etc.

Today we have published FPN 32 – Corporate Criminal Offence.

This FPN reflects new legislative responsibilities put on the University, that any member of staff involved in the payment of suppliers or sales must take notice of.

 



The Southend Festival

Inspired by Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Southend BID will be creating a six-week long programme of cultural events using BID businesses and the public realm, including the town centre, seafront and Southend Pier. Taking place from Sunday 1st July to Wednesday 15th August, the itinerary features a combination of art, comedy, music, literature and performance, including the Southend Art Trail, comedy previews, literary talks and live music.
