[Service Alert] Issue with wifi at The Forum, Southend Campus

We are aware of an issue with the wifi at The Forum, Southend Campus that is preventing staff and students from accessing eduroam throughout The Forum and our Learning Hub.
This issue was reported to Southend Borough Council, and now seems to be back up and running. We will continue to monitor.

[Service Alert] Issue with some IT services earlier today

Earlier today we experienced an issue with the Colchester campus IT network which meant that you may not have been able to access some services between 8:25am and 9:15am – for example:

This issue has since been resolved.

[Service Alert] Problem with power in the Library

An issue was identified with the power and has been fixed.  We are monitoring the situation to ensure that all services are restored as quickly as possible.

Investigating, 10:53am

We’re currently investigating reports of a power cut affecting staff across several floors in the library on the Colchester Campus.

We’ll post another update here as soon as we learn more.

[Service Alert] Power cut on Colchester campus yesterday evening

There was a power outage at the Colchester campus yesterday which affected a significant number of our IT services. Power was restored at 22:38, however, some computers and other services may still be affected today, such as remoting into your computer on campus.

If you have any issues, please contact the IT Helpdesk, and will help you as soon as we can.

[Alert] Disruption to wifi network

The cause of the problem has been identified and transmitter / receiver modules are returning operation. Some may take longer than others, however we expect all to be fully on line by 11:00 am.

We are confident the issue has now been resolved and will continue to monitor the situation. We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this will have caused.

The problem has been identified efforts to resolve it are ongoing. We appreciate your patience whilst our engineers work on this. Next update by 10:15 if not sooner.

The entire wifi network is experiencing intermittent connection problems at Colchester, we are urgently looking into the problem.

We’re really sorry about this and our teams are working hard to get this fixed as soon as possible. Next update at 10:00 if not sooner.
