Problems accessing Library services

Update: The problems affecting logging into certain library systems have now been resolved.

We have received reports that there are currently intermittent issues with logging on to some library services, the cause of which is currently being looked into.

Further updates will be posted when more information is available.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

Update

We are delighted to confirm that the essential maintenance for LEAP has been successful completed, and LEAP is now accessible again. We would like to thank you for your patience.

We expect access to be available again by the end of today. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

[Resolved] Problems with authentication service (feds.essex.ac.uk)

There are currently issues logging in to the following services:

  • faser.essex.ac.uk
  • box.essex.ac.uk
  • https://essex-university.zoom.us

Others might be affected.

FASER’s logon services has been redirected (from 8:10am), so staff and students will be able to logon successfully.

We are currently investigating the cause and will return service as soon as possible.

[Service alert] [Resolved] Problem with door card readers

Salto card readers, that control door access, are currently down.

Engineers are working to resolve the issue, we apologise for any inconvenience caused and will update this service alert once the issue has been resolved.

[Service Alert] Reduced service on the IT Helpdesk today

We have a reduced service on the IT Helpdesk today.

If you need support please email it.helpdesk@essex.ac.uk instead of phoning or visiting the IT Helpdesk. Telephones and answerphone messages will still be monitored but  there may be a delay in our reply.

Don’t forget you can also check our website and knowledge base for service information and answers to frequently asked questions.
