Off-campus network connectivity at risk 07/02/18.

We have received notification that a third party service provider will be performing maintenance work on a link that provides network connectivity to our Southend campus between 10pm Tuesday 6th February and 7am on Wednesday 7th February. This should not affect services as traffic should re-route through the other connection.  However, the network connectivity to the Southend campus should be considered ‘at-risk’ during this time.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

We have received notification that a third party service provider will be upgrading firmware on a device that provides network connectivity to our Colchester campus between 7 and 9am on Tuesday 13th February. This should not affect services as traffic should re-route through the other connection.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

We have received notification that a third party service provider will be upgrading firmware on a device that provides network connectivity to our Colchester campus between 7 and 9am on Tuesday 6th February.  During the same time-frame, a device that provides network connectivity to our Southend campus will be upgraded too.  This should not affect services as traffic should re-route through the other connections.

[Service Alert] Severe disruption to IT services today

Further to the incident at 8:15 this morning the fault has now been rectified and IT Services (Networks) will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as appropriate.

[Service Alert] 30 Second Network Outage Monday 11th December 2017 18:00hrs

There will be 30 second network outage affecting around 50% of the Colchester Campus Monday 11th December 2017 at 6PM over a 10 minute window.  

Servers and services will also be affected for 30 seconds or less over this period.

 

This will be to perform some potentially disruptive actions on core equipment to resolve the intermittent DHCP network issue affecting some areas of the Colchester Campus.

 

After this timeframe if problems persist please restart your PC before contacting the IT Helpdesk for further instructions.
