We’re performing urgent maintenance on the virtual desktop service.

We will be performing maintenance on the following services from 6:00pm Friday 23 July to 10:00am Tuesday 27 July:

remote.essex.ac.uk

clearing.essex.ac.uk

sernt43.essex.ac.uk

During this time, these services will be unavailable.

Apologies for the short notice and for the disruption to service.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

We will be performing scheduled maintenance on the University data network on 20 July 2021 from 7.30am to 8.00am.

During this time, services that rely on the network may be unavailable for a brief moment. This includes but is not limited to:
University website

Moodle

Faser

LEAP

SharePoint

[Service Alert] Issue with connecting to computers remotely

Over the bank holiday weekend we experienced power cuts which meant that you may not have been able to remotely connect to your computer if it is on our Colchester Campus.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

This issue has since been resolved, however if you experience any problems connecting to your computer, please contact the IT Helpdesk at https://www.essex.ac.uk/staff/it-services/it-helpdesk

[Service Alert] Problem with power in the Library

Monitoring, 11:27am

An issue was identified with the power and has been fixed.  We are monitoring the situation to ensure that all services are restored as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience while we dealt with this.

 

Investigating, 10:53am

We’re currently investigating reports of a power cut affecting staff across several floors in the library on the Colchester Campus.

We’ll post another update here as soon as we learn more.
