[Scheduled] Planned telephone system upgrades are happening soon

Filed under: Telephone, [Resolved], [Scheduled], [Service Alert] — Andy Tyne @ 7:24 pm

Resolved

The updates have been installed and tested without incident. If anyone is having trouble with please let the IT Helpdesk know.

Planned work

To keep our telephone system well maintained and running properly, we’ve got some planned upgrades happening on:

  • Wednesday 21 October between 6.00am and 8.00am

During this period the phone system will be completely offline for between 20 to 45 minutes depending on the type of phone you are using, when no inbound or outbound calls (including call redirection) will be possible at all campuses and for those using BRIA.

All systems, including voicemail and BCT, will be affected simultaneously and then gradually return to a functional state.

We expect the work to go smoothly and will update you here as soon as the work is finished.

If you have any questions about this work please email:

telephones@essex.ac.uk ; using the subject line “Phone system upgrade 21/10/20“.

Thanks as always for your patience.
