The planned Internet firewall upgrade work has been completed successfully.

Planned Work – Saturday 6 March 09:00 – 14:00

As part of our ongoing improvements to cyber security, we’ve got some planned upgrades of our Internet firewalls happening on Saturday the 6th of March from 09:00 to 14:00 on the Loughton E15 Campus.

Unfortunately you may experience brief interruptions on network and Internet access during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll update you here as soon as the work is complete.

[Service Alert] We’re making improvements to our online forms hosted on forms.essex.ac.uk

UPDATE 10:42am: This work is now complete.

The SharePoint Team will be deploying an upgrade to the Collagen Forms Service (hosted on forms.essex.ac.uk) this morning between 10:30am and 10:45am on Monday 1 March 2021.

We expect to make all required changes in 5 minutes or less. However, as a precautionary measure we are asking staff and students not to attempt to edit any of the below form types until after 10:45am, as any changes in that timeframe could be lost:

  • PG DRF
  • UG DRF
  • PG Dean Approval Form
  • Dissertation Extension Request
  • Research Away Request
  • Change of Mode of Study Request
  • Request for Withdrawal
  • CAS Extension Request
  • ECF Case File Workflow

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll update you as soon as the work is complete.

Monitoring (10:00) An issue with the Colchester campus IT network has been reported which may have stopped you being able to access some services – for example:

Normal performance has been restored and we are monitoring the situation.

[Service Alert] Issue with wifi at The Forum, Southend Campus

We are aware of an issue with the wifi at The Forum, Southend Campus that is preventing staff and students from accessing eduroam throughout The Forum and our Learning Hub.
This issue was reported to Southend Borough Council, and now seems to be back up and running. We will continue to monitor.
