[Service Alert] Microsoft Outlook Access Issues [Resolved]

Update 16:20:

Microsoft have investigated the issue and re-routed the traffic to healthy servers; service has now been restored.

Some users are experiencing issues accessing emails via Outlook today, Microsoft are currently investigating the cause. If Outlook has become unusable, please use Outlook Web Access, which is available at https://email.essex.ac.uk

Update – Complete – Advanced notice of unavailability of M: drive server – Southend campus

The scheduled work is now complete and isslx107 is once again serving M: drives to users. – 19th September, 0743


The M: drive server (isslx107.essex.ac.uk) will be unavailable between 07:20 and 08:00 on Tuesday 19th September due to server maintenance.  Users’ will not be able to access their documents on their M: drives during this time.

This mostly affects staff and students at the Southend campus.
An announcement will be posted once the work is complete.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Network Problems – Greenwood House / Day Nursery / Others [RESOLVED]

The Problem was completely resolved by 10:00am

On Wednesday 13th Sept at 5.05pm a network device or its power source has failed causing outages to following areas / services:

Greenwood House

Day Nursery

Various North Accommodation Building Management Systems

Unfortunately the faulty device in question is in a hard to access restricted area so any resolution won’t occur until the morning of Thursday 14th.

We will post updates as we have more information.

There is currently an upgrade process underway to bypass this hard to access area of the network which is currently in progress and will likely will be finished by the Christmas Vacation.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

[Service Alert][Resolved] Problem with HR Organiser and Vacancies websites

The issue has now been resolved and both websites are once again accessible.


We are currently experiencing issues with access to the following websites:

https://vacancies.essex.ac.uk

https://hrorganiser.essex.ac.uk

Work is ongoing to try and resolve the issue.  Apologies for any inconvenience.
