[Service Alert] Issue with remote desktop – trouble connecting or maintaining a connection

We have made a range of improvements directed at this problem, we are continuing to monitor the situation very closely.  Again, we’re sorry for the disruption.

 

Investigating, 4.20pm 2 June

We’re aware that some staff are having trouble connecting or maintaining a connection to their computer on campus using remote desktop.

If this problem is affecting you please report it to the IT Helpdesk  (https://www.essex.ac.uk/staff/it-services/it-helpdesk).

One workaround is to use the University’s Virtual Desktop service  (https://www.essex.ac.uk/staff/it-services/virtual-desktop).

Also check our working remotely guidance (https://www.essex.ac.uk/staff/it-services/working-remotely-from-home-or-off-campus)  as many of our services are accessible without using VPN and remote desktop.
