Intermittent loss of network access [Resolved]

There should currently be no symptoms affecting the network.  The root cause is still being investigated.

If you continue to have issues please contact the ITS Helpdesk.

Webmail is currently inaccessible

Update: 13:50

The problem was identified and fixed so webmail can now once again be accessed via email.essex.ac.uk

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

We are currently investigating an issue with webmail. The service is currently inaccessible via the usual url https://email.essex.ac.uk.

As a workaround you may still access your email account via the url below:

https://outlook.office.com/owa/essex.ac.uk/

We will provide a further update as soon as possible.

[Service Alert] Campus network and internet in the Psychology building – Colchester Campus [Restored]

All wireless and wired network connectivity in the Psychology building was lost today Thursday 10th October at 16:10 and was restored at fully at 17.27

This was due to a prior excess of water from a pipe earlier in the day the electrical supply to the network equipment feeding the building was disrupted.

We managed to feed an alternative power source to restore power to the equipment.  We will need to have a brief outage during a future network at-risk period to move the power back once the main feed has been restored.
