[Service Alert] [Resolved] Moodle currently unavailable

Update 11:00am:

Moodle has now been returned to service.

The cause of the problem was chased to a routine OS update, which caused a previously optional configuration field to become mandatory.

Moodle was unavailable between approximately 8:30am and 11:00am.

We’ve experienced a problem with a routine server update which is preventing access to Moodle and MoodleX. We’re currently looking into the issue.

The Moodle archive is still available (https://moodlearchive.essex.ac.uk/2018/), but note that this is a read-only version based on a snapshot taken in July 2019.
