[Service Alert] [Scheduled] Panopto and Listen Again upgrade

The following services will be unavailable between 10am and 4pm on Monday 29 July, and then considered at risk until Wednesday 31 July:

  • Listen Again (https://listenagain.essex.ac.uk/)
  • Panopto (https://panopto.essex.ac.uk/)

This is so that we can carry out essential maintenance, upgrading Panopto to the latest version. This new version includes a number of changes, but most usefully a recycle bin, so that accdeintally deleted recordings can be recovered.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

[Service Alert] [Unresolved] Problems accessing web based services

A fix has been put in place so users can access these services again.

We are continuing to monitor these services.

We are currently investigating an issue affecting our web based services.

Affected services included:

  • Some University webpages (mainly online forms and secure pages)
  • Moodle
  • Listen Again
  • FASer
  • Sharepoint
  • Other web-based services

[Service Alert] Power problem affecting network in 6.1XX area – Colchester Campus

Please be aware that we are experiencing networking disruption this morning in the main campus building 6.1XX area.
Power has been lost to a network node presence due to a blown fuse.

The electrical team is currently working urgently to restore power, the Networks and Telecoms team will then closely monitor the network to ensure a smooth return of service.

We currently predict a return to service of 10:30. The outage will affect some – but not all – of the area in question.

Apologies for the disruption to service.

Moodle Upgrade – Reminder

This is a quick reminder to our staff and students that Moodle will be unavailable from 9am July 15th until no later than 5pm July 15th, while we upgrade to the latest version and perform essential system maintenance.

[Service Alert][Resolved] UPDATE: Agresso web server reboot

The server which provides the web service for Unit 4 Business World has become unresponsive.  As a result of this, the server will be rebooted at 10:45 on Tuesday 9th July, 2019.

An update will be posted once the server is back online.
