[Service Alert] [Resolved] Unit 4 (Agresso) unavailable from 5.15pm today

As part of important year end processes, Unit 4 (desktop and web) will be unavailable from 5.15pm today, Wednesday 31 July, until 9am tomorrow morning, Thursday 1 August.

This includes the following services;

  • Requisitions/ goods receipting
  • Customer invoicing
  • Request to recruit
  • Claiming expenses
  • Research costing and pricing

During this time all users will be unable to log in to Unit 4.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

The University of Essex will moderate comments and there will be a delay before any posts appear.

[Service Alert] [Resolved] Cherwell Service Desk license expired

The license key has now been successfully applied and the software is back to full usage.

The license key for Cherwell has expired, and the software is currently unavailable. We are expecting to receive a license key this morning. Until this time, all emails directed to Cherwell (bsthelp@essex.ac.uk) are being saved and will be redirected once the license key has been applied.

Update expected at 31/07/2019 10:30am.

[Service Alert] [Resolved] Unit 4 (Agresso) web server reboot

As part of an important maintenance process which could not be delayed, the web version of Unit 4 (Agresso) will be unavailable between 1.00pm and 1.15pm today, Tuesday 30 July 2019. This includes the following services;

  • Claiming expenses
  • Research costing and pricing

During this time all users will be unable to log in to Unit 4: https://agrlive.essex.ac.uk/BusinessWorld/Login/Login.aspx

[Service Alert] [Resolved] Panopto and Listen Again upgrade

Update 30 July, 9:30am:

The Panopto upgrade is now complete, both it and Listen Again have been returned to service.

Note that both services are still considered at risk until Wednesday 31 July:

Update 4:18pm:

The Panopto upgrade has taken longer than expected due to the size of our database.

We now expect to return Listen Again to service by 5pm on Tuesday 30 July.

Original message:

The following services will be unavailable between 10am and 4pm on Monday 29 July, and then considered at risk until Wednesday 31 July:

  • Listen Again (https://listenagain.essex.ac.uk/)
  • Panopto (https://panopto.essex.ac.uk/)

This is so that we can carry out essential maintenance, upgrading Panopto to the latest version. This new version includes a number of changes, but most usefully a recycle bin, so that accdeintally deleted recordings can be recovered.

[Service Alert] [Resolved] Problems accessing web based services

Update 11:45am

This problem was traced to a configuration issue in some replacement hardware. It has now been resolved, and users should be able to access the services listed below.

Update 11:00am

A fix has been put in place so users can access these services again.

We are continuing to monitor these services.

We are currently investigating an issue affecting our web based services.

Affected services included:

  • Some University webpages (mainly online forms and secure pages)
  • Moodle
  • Listen Again
  • FASer
  • Sharepoint
  • Other web-based services
