[Service alert] [Resolved] Further issues with Annotate on FASER

This issue affected students from roughly 12:00noon on Sunday 03 March until 08:51am on Monday 04 March.

The root cause appears to be an unexpected code reversion over the weekend. We are still investigating why this happened.

Update 08:51 am:

The underlining issue has been been fixed for both staff and students.

Additionally, we have converted all outstanding submissions for online marking.

Students: If you still see the warning icon, FASER hasn’t retroactively removed the icon. Your department will be able to view and download submissions, and they should also be able to mark your work online.

We are aware of students and staff who are having difficulties with the following:

  • Students uploading submissions to FASER assignments is showing errors that there are issues with converting your submission.
  • Staff are receiving errors when annotating work online

For students, please note this does not affect your submission, and your department will be able to access your uploaded file(s).

This is caused by the online annotation service used in faser.essex.ac.uk timing out.

We are looking into the problem currently, and hope to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.
