[Resolved] Outlook Searching Issue

We have now successfully tested the Windows Update fix Microsoft published late last week and have approved the fix on our Update server.

The update will install on your machine over the next few days but if you are experiencing major issues please contact it.helpdesk@essex.ac.uk to schedule an engineer to assist you to manually update your PC.

Microsoft has published confirmation that a recent security fix (June 2017) for Outlook 2010 has caused the Indexing issue for a number of users.

A fix is currently being worked on, we’ll keep this post updated.

It’s been reported that some users are experiencing difficulty searching for emails within Outlook.

We are currently looking into a resolution for the issue but in the meantime, if you need to find a specific email please use Outlook Web Access (OWA), available here: https://email.essex.ac.uk
