Moodle search

Global SearchWhen you next log in to Moodle (https://moodle.essex.ac.uk/) you will see a search box in the top-right of the page, this is Moodle’s new global search.

Unlike Moodle’s old search feature which would only return matching courses and course summaries, the new global search will return matching courses, resources, and activities, including the contents of most file types. The new search is also more powerful and supports advanced search queries.

We hope that this makes it easier for students and staff to find teaching resources. More information about global search can be found on Moodle’s website.

The problems involving the Panopto iOS app (v5.1.0.27860) affecting Listen Again access has been resolved with an updated version.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We have conducted several tests and this problem is now resolved.

[Service Alert] Problem affecting inbound landline calls at Colchester Campus.

11 August 2016 12:00 : Update

Our service provider believes that the problem has now been corrected, though they are still investigating the underlying cause of the problem.

We’re still performing tests but are confident that this issue is now resolved.


 

11 August 2016: 10:50 : Update

We are continuing to work with our service provider and system maintainer on this problem, which is intermittent. Inbound calls from mobile phones and landlines appear to be affected.

A further update on the problem will be given before 3:30 today.


 

10 August 2016: 13:50 – Original Alert:

Calls made to a Colchester extension number from a landline (BT or otherwise) are failing to connect. This was first noticed at around 11:00.

The problem has been reported to our system maintainer and the University’s service provider.

Calls made from a mobile device are not affected.

Outbound calls are not affected.

We are not getting reports of any problems at Southend or Loughton.

Network Problems affecting Roding House / Unit 4

The were network problems today affecting Roding House and Unit4 in Loughton.

Services were restored at 12:17pm on Tuesday 09/08/16.

The issue was caused by a faulty piece of equipment.
