Important changes to how you connect to eduroam wi-fi

Filed under: News, Wi-Fi — Dan Jolly @ 1:04 pm

When you connect to eduroam you’re asked to enter your username and password. Currently you can enter your username in three different ways:

  1. username
  2. campus\username

However from Monday 7 September you will only be able to connect to eduroam using the format

You will not be able to connect using just username or campus\username.

What you need to do

If you already connect using the format then you don’t need to do anything.

If you don’t then you will need to update your connection settings. It only takes a minute so we recommend you do this as soon as possible.

We’ll be sending out reminder emails if we notice you’re still connecting to eduroam wi-fi using incorrect formats.

Update your connection settings

On your device, go to the connection settings for eduroam wi-fi and make sure your username/identity is in the format after it. Like so:

wifi-yes wifi-no

If you can’t find the settings for this it may be easier to forget/remove eduroam wi-fi and then re-add it.

Guidance on how to set up your device can be found at
