EHS students group ball weekly

Tables were turned on academic and support staff at The Edge Hotel School when they became waiters for the night at the annual Edge Society ball.

More than 70 students from the hotel management and events management with hospitality degree courses flocked to Wivenhoe House for this glamorous occasion, just a week after the latest intake arrived.

And to ensure the students could fully relax, Edge Hotel School staff volunteered to wait on the tables under the watchful eye of the hotel’s general manager Oliver Brown and his deputy Sean Morrison.

Principal of the Edge Hotel School Andrew Boer said: “We had a quick briefing just before the event and then headed into the room. For some of us, it was  a return to previous roles, for others it was a new skill to add to their CVs.

“Fortunately we held our own, didn’t drop anything and received a round of applause from our guests at the end of the meal.

“It’s always a very enjoyable evening and it’s a privilege for us all to be a part of it.”
